When the basin is used in the Level 1 disabled toilet (not very often) it seems to leak a bit of water which then pools on the floor. Christine is going to place a BIEMS request for it to be addressed.

Sad computer
Computer 71603 at the front desk (by drop box) froze up completely. I have disconnected it and restarted it to see if it will go again…
Canta Article
I have put a copy of the Canta article on the Q drive.
Canta are happy for it to be distributed as long as it is attributed to Canta Magazine and the writers – Netta Egoz, Fabian Winiger, and Simon Palenski.
It is a 3MB PDF – I will see if I can create a smaller screen readable version today.
Maybe it should go in the IR as a piece of institutional history?
Screens, eBooks & all of that..
Can’t sleep?
Long story short – It appears staring at screens messes with your cicadian rhythms more than we thought…

Fundraiser – Jane Sweetman/Egerton
Some of you may remember Jane who used to work for UC Library and worked for CCC a couple of times. Jane has had a relapse of a particularly virulent form of cancer. The only real option for Jane is a drug that is neither govt nor insurance funded in NZ – even though in most western countries it is. Because of this Jane, though ill, is having to fundraise constantly for very expensive treatment. Today she has launched an auction on trademe of things that have been donated to her to raise funds. Lots of interesting bits and pieces. If you are interested or may know anyone who is please let them know…

All our public copiers have a few problems.
We seem to have problems with all our copiers.
I have checked one downstairs that seem to have a recurring ghost paper jam.
To work out the serial number of the copiers you need to push the “User Tools” button and then press the “Enquiry” button.
Stickers or lack of them don’t seem to mean much.
The one I was looking at (with the recurring paper jam) was Serial number – M6582200042.
This is the one on the ground floor on the right as you look at it from the desk.
I have rung Ricoh (Ph 0800 80 76 76) about it (Call Ref: 1057460)and we can expect to have someone come and have a look at it – probably today.
It may work fine in the interim or if it jams again it seems to come right if we open everything and then close it again.
The one on the left on the ground floor has a Diebold problem.
Dave, Christine & myself have all talked to or emailed at one point or another Casey Wilkes of ICTS on x7895. Casey has talked to Marilyn in the copy centre about this and yesterday and it seems to be a Ricoh problem or at least a something to do with how the Diebold and Ricoh talk to each other. Marilyn is away today but Casey is still keen to hear if the Diebold problem is resolved today.
The copier upstairs last I heard had a print queue missing? I think it mean it was only printing duplex or single-sided – one or the other but not both – I can’t remember which. I don’t remember hearing anything about what happened with this one.
Hopefully normal service will resume ASAP.
Other photocopier faulty..
There seems to be a recurring “ghost” paper jam/misfeed on the ground floor copier – Right hand side as I look at it from the desk. Has anyone else had any trouble with it?
Photocopier faulty?
Copier on the ground floor left hand side as I am looking at them from the desk seems to be faulty (according to the little piece of paper on it). Does anyone know anything about it and/or has anyone been contacted?
