Sculpture Trail

Hi there,

I will be taking a small group around on the sculpture trail again today. We will be meeting in Central Library by the information desk at 10am, and will probably visit PSL and the Engineering library on our rounds. We will try to keep the noise to a minimum.

Thanks

Terri

Sculpture trail

Good morning

I will be taking a sculpture trail group around the trail this morning from 10-11.30. We will probably visit central, psl, and law libraries during the tour, and will try to keep noise levels to a minimum.

This is one of series of trails being run throughout term one as part of the university’s contribution to the festival of flowers. There will be one each Wednesday throughout March.

Thanks,

Terri

Memorial Plaque for Belinda Trainor

Hi everyone

I had an enquiry today from a relative of Belinda Trainor, who was told there was a memorial plaque for Belinda in one of the libraries on campus.

Belinda was a graduate of Canterbury probably in the 1980s, but she died before being able to complete her postgraduate studies overseas. She was apparently awaiting a heart transplant. There is an undergraduate scholarship in her name for students of gender studies.

Do any of you know of such a plaque in any of the libraries, or elsewhere on campus? If you have any information, could you give me a call on 8669.

Thanks for your help,

Terri

Heritage Week Sculpture Trail Tours

As part of Heritage week this year, I am running 3 guided tours of the sculpture trail for UC Opportunity. The tours are as follows:

Saturday 18th Oct 2-3.30pm (15 People)
Sunday 19th Oct 2-3.30pm (15 people)
Wednesday 22 Oct 2-3.30pm (19 people)

On each of these tours we will be visiting Central, PSL and the Law Libraries with the groups for about 10-15 minutes max. We will ask the groups to be sensitive about noise levels, and try to cause as little disruption as possible. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Acces to Library Warehouse

The key card swipes for the doors to the Library Warehouse are not working this morning. We have advised security and they are attempting to fix the problem. Meantime, if you require urgent access to the Warehouse, you can call George Fudge on extension 8467 to arrange for him to let you in. We will let you know when the problem has been fixed. Thanks, Terri
