Gail has forwarded me a report from ANZIIL (Australia NZ Institute of Information Literacy). The NZ representatives are Hester Mountfield from AU and Lucy Broadbent from Massey. ANZIIL had a teleconference in July. It was agreed that ANZIIL Symposium 9 will take place in Auckland in November 2009. There will be no symposium this year as the group decided that the priority should be on marketing and strengthening of ANZIIL. I have a copy of the ANZIIL report if anyone would like to read it.

If you ever need to unlock the electronic stapler by the printers in the Central Library, the key to the padlock is attached to the Den key ring.
Here’s another link to Educause content:
Happy families, Good feeling and winning IT collaborations
You may need to create a username and password to log into the ELI content.
On Monday 21st July between 1pm & 3pm, the two hp printers outside the Den will be replaced with Raeco printers like the model in the Den.
The EndNote pages on the Library web site have a new format, thanks to Alison J and Peter Kennedy. Suggestions for additional content are welcome.
I’ve added my voice to John Robson from Waikato about the lack of printed copies of the 2006 census. If you agree, you might wish to email the Stats NZ representative mentioned in John’s NZ Lib’s posting.
Is anybody else missing the publication of hard copy versions of the 2006 Census?
Apparently Stats NZ decided not to print them anymore after consultation with their users! It would be interesting to know if that included Librarians and the users of Library collections.
Academics and students here at Waikato continue to ask for the hard copy versions so we feel there is definitely a need for Stats NZ to continue printing them as well as making them available online.
Could anyone who feels as we do please contact Victoria Treliving at Stats NZ
Victoria.Treliving@stats.govt.nz and let her know your concern.
Thanks
John Robson
