Kia ora rā koutou,
UC Puna’s annual Christmas Celebration is fast approaching.
This year it looks a little different, so read our “FAQs: Christmas 2021” below.
What and when? 2021 Library Christmas Celebration, Friday November 26th, start time 12.45pm to approximately 1.30pm.
Where? Online via zoom, a code will be sent with an updated calendar invite. You can join our event from your desk or while working-from-home, or even from your iPad in the park!
Format? We will begin with karakia, then Anne will give a UC Library Christmas Address to rival the Queen’s Christmas Message! We will then move on to a 20-question Kahoot Online Quiz. We will have a brief prize-giving, then close up with a karakia.
What do I need to have ready? Your second screen will be useful to participate in the Kahoot. If you are using an iPad or laptop to join the Zoom, a second device i.e. your phone, is needed.
Can I dress up? YES, please do! There will be a prize for best dressed Christmas-themed outfit and a prize for best Christmas-themed screen background. So get your creative thinking caps on and start designing those costumes and backgrounds.
What are the prizes? Small prizes of the edible variety are likely.
Can I eat lunch while I zoom in? Absolutely.
Are we having Christmas kai within our teams? Yes, we have sign-off that teams can share kai together at a time that suits them. Your Manager will likely be planning this now, so please direct any team celebration questions to them.
Do we have to go back to work after the Christmassy Zoom? Nope! This free time is in appreciation of the challenges and successes of the year – enjoy it!

We realise this is a big change in how Christmas has been celebrated in previous years, but it’s still shaping up to be a fun acknowledgement of the awesome people that make up UC Library team.
Ngā mihi, Gabrielle
