New date for Rainbow Awareness Workshop

Kia ora rā koutou,

We have a new date for the Rainbow Awareness Workshop that was postponed during the August lockdown. On Monday 29th November, Ari Nicholson (UC Rainbow Advisor) will lead us through a tailored workshop for Library Staff.  The workshop is open to any interested Library kaimahi and runs from 9am -1pm.

An outline of the workshop content is here:
K:\Management\Rainbow-workshop-2021.docx

You can register for the workshop at this link. It will be held in Room 224 and attendance is capped at 30 people which allows for ample physical distancing in this space.

If you are keen to come but can’t make the time or the workshop is full, please let me know.  We will look to arrange another workshop in 2022 if demand is high.

Any questions, please let myself or Sara know.

UC Equity Report 2020/2021

Kia ora rā koutou,

Earlier this year the UC Equity Review Report was released and  a number of Library kaimahi attended some of the UC-wide equity review workshops. These were curtailed by lockdown so the recommendation and implementation phases will be delayed.

In the meantime, take a read over the report. It makes for thought-provoking reading and provides a chance to reflect on your own perceptions of equity. UC Equity Review Report

It is not available as a link anywhere, but UC staff and students can request the PDF copy  by emailing equity@canterbury.ac.nz

It is expected that a full report and it’s associated recommendations will be more widely available once the process is complete.

Online Staff Zui 2-3pm Wed

Tēnā rā tātou,

Please join the UC Library team for an online Library Staff Forum, Wednesday September 1st, 2-3pm.

The zui will be split into two parts:

1) First half hour – This is a chance to hear UC notices, Library information and learn about what Covid Alert Level 3 looks like for UC Library.

2) Second half hour – There will be a number of breakout rooms, you will be assigned to one.

Once you arrive in your (virtual) breakout room, there are a number of topics that can act as conversation starters.

This space is a smaller space where discussion can happen more easily, and you can feel free to catch up with colleagues in an informal way.

Rainbow Awareness Workshop postponed

Kia ora koutou,

If you had enrolled for the Rainbow Awareness Workshop on Monday 30th August, it has been postponed until further notice.

It is a kaupapa that is best delivered and discussed in person. Please know that we will do our best to re-schedule this when we have some Alert Level certainty.

Hope you are all okay out there in your bubbles and enjoyed the sunshiney weather this week.

Noho haumaru | Stay safe,

Gabrielle
