We’ve had to make a small change to the format column in “title begins with” and “journal titles begins with” search results in the catalogue. Until recently this column displayed the GMD from the title (e.g. [electronic resource], [videorecording], etc), but newer RDA records do not contain a GMD in the title. We have now changed to using various other codes from the MARC records to show when a title is an electronic resource. Unfortunately, this means that these browse results will no longer display other format types, but these are still shown by the format icons in standard keyword searches.
Tomorrow morning (18th June) from 8am-9am ICTS will be upgrading the Sophos management server.
During this time there may be small periods where Sophos Anti-virus brings up an error message on your computer saying it cannot update.
ICTS advise – these error messages are okay and to be expected. They should disappear when the upgrade is finished.
In other words, please just ignore Sophos update error messages tomorrow morning.
There will be a morning tea on Friday 21st at 10am, central library staff room, to farewell Donna before she embarks on maternity leave.
Friday is Donna’s last day of work, so let’s all spoil her!
Bring a plate if you’d like (there should be plenty of food though, so there’s no pressure to bake in this inclement weather)
There will be an outage on Monday 10th June at 5.00pm until 8.00pm that will affect a number of Applications on the following Servers:

• Profiler
• UCSpark

Please ensure you have saved any work you are doing prior to the patching.
Press Display is not working well this morning (our access is not being picked up, stopping users reading more than a page or two of a paper). This seems to be a global Press Display issue so we have reported it to their technical support. Hopefully it will be fixed promptly.
Just letting you know we (e-services) have changed the link to paymentplus in MyAccount and on the Fine Payments page.
It’s been updated to the new version of PaymentPlus (we switched over the Horizon launcher link used by staff about 2 weeks ago).
There shouldn’t be any problems as it has been well-tested, but please let us know of any payment abnormalites you have reported to you.
Note – students can only pay for fines from these links. Lost books and damaged items e.t.c. have to be paid for at the desk, via the staff version of paymentplus.
this just came in from ICTS…staff working tomorrow morning may be affected.
“Good afternoon,
As part of ongoing work with our firewall vendors, users on wireless and staff computers may see some degradation of Internet performance tomorrow, between approximately 10.30am-11.30am. Users may intermittently have connection issues, including web pages not loading. In most cases, reloading the page should allow people to continue during this time.
Users of the proxy server (including student workroom computers) should not be affected. Users on Firepass remote access are also not affected.
Apologies for the late notice and any inconvenience this may cause.

Hi all
There seems to have been another glitch with the firewall a few moments ago so you may be experiencing issues connecting to websites e.t.c.
This can be fixed by going into internet enabler, clicking “disable”, then clicking “enable” again. Refresh the page you were trying to view, and all should be ok again.
