Hi all

The Library Course booking system is playing up at the moment. When people try to book a course they are seeing a “Add Adams, Lorna Jane” button rather than an “add the person logging in’s name” button. Unfortunately Margaret A is away until Monday next week and I have been unable to work out what is causing this. I’ve added a note to the booking page advising anyone wanting to book a course to contact e-services with their username, course name and session they want to attend. I (and the owner of each course) can add usernames to the booking lists for each course.

Hi all

ICTS staff have just informed us that some people (using Chrome or Safari browsers) have been having trouble accessing journals/databases from off-campus because they are not able to use the Remote Access Log in Screen. The screen flickers and doesn’t allow them to input any details. With Safari, the problem disappears when auto-fill is turned off. We haven’t been able to reproduce the problem in Chrome (and were not aware of this until today) so are not sure what the problem is there, but would suggest people having problems use Firefox or IE instead.
We’ll continue to investigate this problem.

e-Services

Anthropological Index Online is not working at the moment, and we are experiencing some problems as well with connecting to our subscribed ebooks in Literature online database. Both providers are working on resolving the situation.

There are currently some intermittent problems with searching in Multisearch. Searching can result in blank page. Summon is working on the issue.

Hi all
We have made some changes to the “Items in Transit” report.
It will now let you pick a particular Storage location – Store A (includes theses), Store B, Store E and Special Collections. There is still the option to select all Storage.
We’ve also added a new sort option collection/Call# which can be used where collections are shelved separately (e.g. monographs vs serials).

I hope you’ll find these changes useful.

Wondering why your libguide looks a bit different?

To bring libguides more into line with the web rebranding we have just updated the banner with one the UC web/design team created.
I have also made some small changes to system-wide tab and box headers, and header font colours to make them work a bit better with the red banner.

EBL inform us that access to EBL e-books will be unavailable on March 2nd 2014 between 1-5pm as their platform undergoes scheduled maintenance (enhancements and updates).
They apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but hopefully this will result in an improved user experience.

ICTS advise:

The phone system is currently experiencing a partial unavailability, which means Dovedale and voice over IP (VoIP) phones are unable to communicate with Ilam analogue phones.

External calls and calls to Ilam VoIP phones are still working at present, as are outgoing calls from Ilam analogue phones to all numbers.

Vendor support has been contacted and we will provide another update as soon as this is resolved.
