A team of 9 staff are continuing to update the changes to the locations for the journals after the recent moves. It will take some time to complete the work.
Journals in store within the call range A-Nz are now in level 2 of the Henry Field store ZHJ and those within the range of P-Zz are in the Law Basement ZLJ. So even though a hold may be generated for the wrong location our staff do know where to find it. Thanks for your patience. Joan
You may be interested to view the Eposters from the VALA 2018 conference (VALA in the state of Victoria Australia is their library association). There are 14 posters on a range of topics. They are easier to read on a large screen but I would encourage you to have a look at them. They have some useful ideas for some of our services. Joan Vala2018.paperlessevents.com.au.

On Mon 11 Dec Project 2 will get underway. Journals in the call range A-MZ will be moved from the Library Warehouse and Law Basement. They will be shelved on level 2 of Library Store (LSHF).
* There will only be retrievals from the Library Warehouse for theses and the call range Q-Z as access will be very restricted during the project timeframe.
* The team of 9 staff have made great progress in updating the holdings information however, it will be next year before the the entire holdings information is correct. If the item records indicates zhj then by 21 Dec the journal will be in Library Store (LSHF).
* Over the next 2 months retrievals from LSHF and shelving will be adhoc until a new workflow has been agreed on.
* Sandra Gover will be based in LSHF from 11 Dec until the end of the project and I will be based at the Library Warehouse, Law Basement and LAC workroom.
* When the journals A-MZ have left the Library Warehouse then the thesis collection will be moved on to other shelving in the Library Warehouse.
* On 19 December 6 stacks in the Library Warehouse will be dismantled and moved to the Library Store (LSHF). This will create floor space so that Project 3 can safely be completed with a start date of Tues 16 Jan.
* Sandra and I will retrieve journals when time and access allows. If you have any queries please get in touch.
Joan and Sandra
Changes have now been made to the Education collection codes in most cases the “t” has been replaced with a ‘c’ The move is going well. About half the L collection and half of the classroom collection is still to be moved today. Customer Services staff have been shelving items on the upper levels and the Education staff will shelve the items on to the lower shelves on Friday. Thankfully Sandra is back at work and she is overseeing shelving at Central today.
Please note that the items in the Education stack have a Z location but still have a ‘t’ collection code. Other items coming in to the Library Store Henry Field will be zhb or zhj. Joan
