EDUC 204

EDUC 204 Promoting child and adolescent wellbeing and health.

The first part of their assignment is due this Tuesday. Students have to locate different kinds of information depending upon which of 4 different topics they have chosen. Kerry G has run tutorial sessions for these students so hopefully they will be self sufficient. Kathleen Liberty (lecturer) has allocated marks for the finding of the information and she is keen for the students to find their information fairly independantly.

No Brief Candle: Reconceiving Research Libraries for the 21st Century [pdf]

Hi all. I saw this on the Scout Report and thought it might interest some people.

http://www.clir.org/pubs/reports/pub142/pub142.pdf
In the winter of 2008, the Council on Library and Information Services (CLIR) convened a group of 25 leading librarians, publishers, faculty members, and information technology specialists to look into the following question: “How should we be rethinking the research library in a swiftly changing information landscape?” As part of this discussion, the participants discussed “the challenges and opportunities that libraries are likely to face in the next five to ten years.” The 81-page report is divided into two sections. The first provides a basic overview of the ways in which research libraries might transform themselves in the near future and the second section contains eight short topical essays from some of the participants. These essays include “Co-teaching: The Library and Me”, “The Future of the Library in the Research University”, and “The Role of the Library in 21st Century Scholarly Publishing”.

Assignment cover sheet

Following on from an Asklive question a little while ago:
Primary and Early Childhood Education students require a cover sheet when submitting their assignments. The cover sheets are on the Library catalogue as pdf’s. Type ‘assignment cover sheet’ into a keyword search to find them. The Education Library has laminated copies of both at the Lending desk for students to photocopy.
