I attempted to issue lecture notes to a borrower at 4.10pm. The computer told me it was too close to closing time to issue a 1 hour loan. The computer was perhaps thinking that we close at 5pm today? I was able to issue the item through the Restricted Loans Horizon screen. The problem was in the PSL Horizon screen.
(this is obviously the same thing that was being encountered during our extended opening hours)?

There was a loud noise tonight which I thought sounded like someone was banging really loudly on the staffrom windows. Investigations ensued, and no ‘banger’ was found, despite the fact that the noise continued intermittently for a period of time. Patrick’s diagnosis is that the banging is something to do with the heating. I have no theory on the source of the noise now that my ‘banging on the staffroom window’ theory has been discredited. The noise has stopped now.
