New Zealand Time Series Database

Econ 105 students need NZ Time Series Database to complete their first assignments. This year, students do not need to install the software DX for Windows in order to use the database as the software is preinstalled on their students’ logins if they are using the PCs in the Library except the Loft ones. If you are asked about this database, tell the student/s to go to Library databases page to access this database. Cuiying

Econ 224 – Last minute marking
by Alison McIntyre – Friday, 26 September 2008, 01:14 PM

I will be available on Monday 29th September 9.00 am to 1.00pm to meet with Econ 224 students who have not yet completed the InformEd programme and who would like some one-on-one assistance to do so. The InformEd programme is compulsory for your Econ 224 essay so even if you havn’t made a start I urge you to do so.

You may submit assignments 1, 2 and 3 without waiting for them to be marked as there will be no marking done over the weekend. Assignments will be marked on Monday morning. You will be expected to resubmit assignments until you meet the required standard before 5.00pm on Monday 29th September. Everything you need to know to complete the assignments is in the online tutorials which of course will be available 24/7 including the weekend. I will be available on Monday morning to give you feedback on your assignments, to give you direction as to what you will need to do to pass and to help you with the skills required to complete the assignments.

If you would like to arrange a one on one meeting please email me suggesting your prefered time between 9.00 and 1.00pm. Preference will be given to students who have requested a meeting on a first come first served basis.

MGMT 212 Market Research Assignment

MGMT 212 students have got a market research assignment. This is a very difficult assignment as there is no right or wrong answer to the questions.

The assignment requirs students to use secondary data to:
1) Estimate the annual dollar sales history for the NZ pizza market since 2004, as well as the annual dollar sales history for the New Zealand fast-food industry
2) Identify the major competitors (i.e., dollar sales, market share, etc) both direct and indirect to Dominos.

They can use the following for this assignment. 1) Factiva & Newztext for journal articles by entering the following search words domino and pizza* and (sale* or trade*) and zealand 2) Factiva Companies/Markets for Domino company and its competitors’ data. 3) New Zealand time series database, key Statistics and Statistics New Zealand for industry trade data.
