Altmetrics in Summon
Summon now has a new feature – the “Altmetrics Badge”. This means that you can view the altmetrics data for individual articles where available. Altmetrics can be described as alternative metrics. In contrast to traditional metrics (citations) altmetrics measure the impact of the article in social media sites such as Twitter, Mendeley, Facebook etc.
For example if you select this article you will view the attached altmetric data:
Malek, A., & Costa, C. (2015). Integrating communities into tourism planning through social innovation. Tourism Planning & Development, 12(3), 281-299. doi:10.1080/21568316.2014.951125
