Orbiter bus route change – January 2019 ECan have advised that from Monday 7 January 2019, the Orbiter bus route will change. It will continue from Greers Road, along Waimairi Road to the Bush Inn Centre. It will NOT include Homestead Lane and Ilam Road. Additional stops will be added on Waimairi and Greers roads.
UC staff and students who wish to catch the Orbiter will need to walk down Homestead Lane or across llam Fields to/from Waimairi Road, or along llam or Clyde Road to/from Riccarton Road.
The Purple line and route 100 will still use llam Road, and these routes connect with Orbiter. Other unaffected bus routes servicing UC are the 120 and 130.

The annual shut down of the boilers at Ilam and Dovedale campuses will happen on Thursday 15 November, and will affect the general heating in nearly all buildings.
The shutdown, which will be in place until March 2019, is required to complete annual maintenance work and a compliance survey on the two boiler plants.
Whekī, John Britten and Biology buildings are not affected by this shutdown and will perform as normal.
The pre-overdue notice has been re-named Due Date Reminder. There has also been a slight change to the wording within the text of the notice. These notices are sent 3 days before an item is due to remind borrowers to either renew or return the items.
This is in response to feedback that it was not a very friendly email to receive. We hope that this change makes a more positive communication to our borrowers. Thanks to E-services (Donna and Margaret) for making the changes.
Just for next week the Dovedale Hold Pickup Service will be open Monday 15 October 12:30-3pm and will be closed on Tuesday 16 Oct. It will open Wednesday and Thursday 12:30-3pm as usual.
I have contacted all the borrowers with Dovedale Holds waiting to be collected to let them know and will contact any others first thing Monday morning.
There is a currently a problem when students scan on printers. The scan is sent to their uclive account however it is going into their junk mail box. Tell students to check their junk mail folder for scans. ITS are currently working on the problem.
The meeting rooms on level 5 of Puaka James Hight are now blocked from being booked from 5pm each evening. This only applies to rooms on the Web room booking system.
The rooms can be used after 5pm by staff but are just not bookable. This is to prevent bookings by staff who do not have access to the area after office hours.
