The Central Library will close at 5pm on Wednesday 31 January.
If you are working in the building after 5pm, please ensure you exit through the staff lifts/stairwell before 6pm.
The early closing is a consequence of the Power Outage affecting parts of the campus from 6pm-12pm on that day.
The weekly hamper run starts tomorrow. Please have all items in labelled hampers tonight that need to go to another location.
Allied Pickfords have been contracted to do this every Tuesday morning starting at 7:30am. They will visit every location to return and pickup items (except for Library Warehouse).

Following on from the news that hamper deliveries are no longer being done by UC Logistics, there have been some tweaks to our mail delivery as well. This applies to both internal and external mail and occurs every weekday where possible.
Central Library
Incoming mail delivered to L5 LAC workroom only (current timing 10:30-11:30). LAC staff distribute it from there.
Outgoing mail collected from L5 and L2 workroom mailboxes, in the morning.
EPS Library
Incoming mail delivered to EPS after-hours returns slot
Outgoing mail needs to be taken to John Britten or Central L2
MB Library
Incoming and outgoing mail is from Te Ao Marama foyer mailbox
The above schedule is subject to change, and timings may change as UC Logistics tweak things. Please let me know if you are aware of any changes to the above.

The last day for viewing the Antarctic Display currently in the EPS Library foyer is Tuesday 31 October. The display is well worth a visit, and if you are coming from Central Library you get to walk right past the new RRSIC building on the way.
If students are having trouble using Echo 360 to listen to lectures, please ask them to use Firefox as their browser. It should work on Firefox.
There is a known bug on student PCs requesting a newer version of Flash and by the end of term ITS tells us all content will be on the new server which doesn’t require flash and will resolve the problem.
I thought I would share this positive feedback that came through the Website feedback form.
” I just want to say how much I appreciate the effort the EPS library put into their displays. There is always such interesting and creative stuff to see! I love coming to work here. Thanks for creating such a nice space for everyone 🙂 Ka pai, EPS librarians. “
Everyone is welcome to come visit and view our displays. We have 2 current ones – Blind Date with a Book (this has been popular, over 40 books have gone out on dates), and the Antarctic display celebrating both the move of the collection to EPS and the Antarctic Season Opening.
Do you like working in a small team? Are you creative and like sharing ideas, planning events and having fun? The Library Orientation team is a small group who plan all the library activities and events for Orientation 2018. We would love to recruit some new people to the team. Remember the Silent Disco?
Contact me if you are keen, you don’t want to miss out on the fun!

Thanks to all who contributed to flowers for Rosie. I visited her on Saturday and took flowers, some food items and a card from us all. She appreciated and thanked us all for the gifts and best wishes.
