I was part of the UC wide Orientation Day working group and we would like feedback on ‘O’ Day Friday 17 Feb. If you can stretch your memory back to last Friday…. and if you were involved in any way (volunteering) or had children that attended, or just an observer, I would be interested in your comments. Please send me your comments by Wed 1 March.
The brand new Engineering Core building is now open, so you can get to EPS Library by walking through this amazing new space.
There is also a small café cart in the space until the new Nuts n Bolts café opens later in March.
EPS staff got a sneak peak at the fabulous new Engineering Core building yesterday. There is lots of purple, including purple booth seating which we didn’t get a photo of.
Thank-you to those who have completed the online Health & Safety Refresher. It appears that some staff have completed watching the video, but did not fill out the form at the end with their details and click submit.
If you have not submitted your details, there is no record that it is completed. If you are in this category please either email Jenny or go to the Refresher page again, scroll to end and fill in your details and submit.
It is a requirement that we keep accurate records of staff who complete Health & Safety refresher or other training. Training must be updated every 2 years.
The Customer Services team now have one general enquiries phone number 369 4888. Calls to this number may be answered by anyone from Central, Education or EPS teams. This is the number which is advertised on our webpage and Library Guide and for distance students.
We also have new numbers and phones at our 3 service desks. These phones are expected to be used for internal calls in and out. Macmillan Brown Library continues to have their own separate phone number.

ITS team are having a Xmas lunch this afternoon. This means there will be no IT help and no-one on the service desk in Central Library or Education library for the rest of the day.
There is a fixed term part time library assistant role (21 hours per week) in the Customer Services team advertised today on UC Vacancies website. The role works in both Education and Central libraries.
