DPI tip of the week

Many heavy users of mobile devices have said that they suffer from “texting thumb”, or pain in thumb, neck or shoulders.
We need to be smart and use mobile devices in ways that keep us comfortable. People are often in awkward positions when using devices, eg. bent over while viewing small screens – think about how mobile devices may contribute to aches and pains.

In 2011 ACC received 304 claims involving rabbits and four claims involving Easter eggs. Be careful this Easter!

DPI awareness tip of the week, 8/2/12

Hi all
Your DPI awareness group would like to remind you about safe work practices. We will be sending out weekly tips and reminders to encourage safe work habits.

If you are moving around the libraries and using different workspaces, remember to adjust the chair, monitor and desk equipment so you are working comfortably. Check the ACC’s Habitatwork site – “Work In Comfort” section.

15 August – save the date!

The Storylines free family fun day is on again this year! Sunday 15 August, 10am – 3pm, at the Christchurch Town Hall. Bring the whole family and meet your favourite authors and illustrators, listen to them read their books, get your books signed, write a story, design a book cover, make a bookmark, mask or pop-up – plan to be there the whole day!

Come and meet Joy Cowley, Margaret Mahy, Joanna Orwin, Feana Tu’akoi, Gavin Bishop, Apirana Taylor, Craig Smith and many more!

Dress up as a book character and you might win a spot prize!
