Do you enjoy reading Pānui every month? Do you have some good ideas that you think could make it even better? If so, we need you! Fiona and Kiera are stepping down from their roles as editors, and we’re looking for their replacements. Please email Simon or Hugh if you’re keen.

There’s been a few online challenges asking people to recreate museum paintings at home, and we thought it would be fun to participate, except using photos from Kā Kohika instead. We’d post them to FB for the students to enjoy.
So, if you’re feeling creative and looking for some (work related) fun, take a look through Kā Kohika (or use one of the below photos) and see if you can recreate an old image just with things you have around the house!
Please email the finished product and the original reference photo to kiera.tauro@canterbury.ac.nz
On this, our first full week of working from home, we present to you a new issue of Pānui to keep you all suitably entertained. As ever, if there is any content you would like included in the next issue please email Fiona T, Kiera, Simon or Hugh.

Peter had the excellent idea of submitting photos of our new workstations for Pānui. So, this is the official call for you to send me (Kiera) photos of your at home office setup, and of your new colleagues.
The ENGR101 assignment is due on Monday, which means that there might be an influx of AskLIVE questions, or front desk enquiries this weekend. I just wanted to post a reminder about the resources we have available for these students:
It’s time for your February issue of Pānui! As ever, if there is any content you would like included in the next issue please email Fiona T, Kiera, Simon or Hugh.

The ENGR101 students get their first assignment today, which means there may be an uptick of questions about PET plastics, coloured bottles and recycling. You can see their full assignment requirements here.
We will be encouraging students to use AskLIVE for their referencing questions. They can use either APA 6th or 7th, but they need to be consistent. If they’re unsure, tell them to use APA 7th and give them advice accordingly.
If they’re asking questions about where to find literature on their topics, or how to write their assignment, you can link them to the subject guide, to one if the modules we’ve created, or send them to one of the engineering subject librarians.
We’re also running daily drop ins next week from 8:30-9 and 12:30-1, that they can sign up for here.
We’ve had a number of questions on AskLIVE today from students who don’t know how to access Echo360 with the new Learn layout. Students have to to their individual course page and then click the Course Blocks section, and it should be there. This link: https://learn.canterbury.ac.nz/course/view.php?id=7726§ion=11 has the instructions.
It’s been a while, but fear not, we are back with a brand new issue of Pānui for you to enjoy! As ever, if there is any content you would like included in the next issue please email Fiona T, Kiera, Simon or Hugh.
