AAEE Report Back

In 2019 I was fortunate to receive a Rosalind Patrick award to attend the 30th Annual Conference of the Australasian Association of Engineering Education, in Brisbane, Australia.

I’ll talk about the conference, what I learnt, and the amazing post conference STEM Librarians Community Practice day! I’ll probably also talk a bit about the Sunshine Coast/Brisbane, because it was my first time in Australia and I thought it was cool.

The session will be on Monday 20 January in Room 210, from 11-12.

You can book here: https://canterbury.libcal.com/event/5224626

Pet pictures!

Christmas is coming, and we wanted to do a fun Facebook post again this year for our students. Given how much we all enjoyed looking at pictures of their pets during the exam pack competition, we thought it would be fun to reciprocate and share some pictures of library pets for the holidays!

If you’d like to participate lease send me a picture of your pet/pets (kiera.tauro@canterbury.ac.nz)

Mac and EndNote

A new Mac operating system, Catalina, was released this week. If Mac users didn’t have the most up-to-date version of EndNote installed, it would not open once they had installed Catalina. Dave and I have had a few people contact us already about this, and I’m sure more questions will come in as more people upgrade to the new OS.

If someone has already updated their computer and EndNote is no longer working, they’ll have to go the EndNote guide and reinstall EndNote with the 64bit Mac install link that’s now live.

If a student comes to you with EndNote on a Mac, please let them know that they need to update it BEFORE upgrading to Catalina to prevent a lot of headaches.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to call me (or send students my way).
