First Annual Seasonal Pie and Produce Day

Remember Soup Day? Remember how delicious all the amazing soups were and how we got to try and eat as many of them as we could before we thought our stomach’s would explode? We thought it would be fun to do something similar again! It’s now officially fall (or autumn, as I’ve been told to call it), and harvest time. We thought pies and salads would be seasonally appropriate, so read on below for all of the details:

When: Tuesday 9 April 2019 from 12:30-1:30

What: First Annual Season Pie and Produce Day

Where: Break-out space next to Central tea room (Level 5)

How to participate: Bring in a pie (of any variety -sweet or savoury welcome) OR something from your garden (perhaps in the form of a salad or bowl of fruit) OR some sort of delicious salad (pasta, potato, veggie or fruit -we’re not picky!)

You don’t have to bring anything to attend, but we do want to try and make sure we have enough food for everyone.

If you’re interested in bringing something, please sign up here and let us know what you’ll be bringing. If we can avoid having duplicates of types of soup that would be great.

If you have any questions please comment below or contact Kiera, Elizabeth orTheresa!

ENGR101

Kia ora koutou

It’s ENGR101 time again! The (1000+) Engineering 101 students are receiving their assignments today and Dave and Kiera will be going to their lectures tomorrow to let them know what the library can do for them. The assignment is due Monday 18 March, so there isn’t a big turnaround time and we expect questions to start coming in relatively quickly. We have created a subject guide to assist students.

Their task is:

“You are to write a technical style engineering report. The aim of the report is to summarise some aspects of the engineering process that lead to a solution to stop humans from ingesting plastics through seafood consumption.”

Students will be required to do APA referencing.

We’ll be offering Adobe Connect sessions at 12:15 every day next week, reiterating what sort of materials they should use and how to find them, and Dave, Nick and Damian will be around for appointments to support students. Additionally, Brian will be at EPS Thursday and Friday for appointments as those are Dave’s short days, and Kiera and Alison will be on leave.

However, there will probably be a higher volume of AskLIVE queries than normal, and likely several front desk inquiries  as well. Please feel free to direct students to the subject guide or to one of the Subject Librarians.

Thanks!
