The library has several projects running that focus on digital assets. One of these is the Digital Presentation project, which is running in tandem with the Digital Assets Management (aka Digital Preservation) project.
The Digital Presentation project is investigating platforms that would allow online display and access to digitised resources held by UC, with the focus at this stage on published resources and other non Ka Kohika cultural heritage collections within the Library.
The goal of the project is to provide a collaborative online environment able to access, display, provide metadata for, and manipulate high quality digital content. This collaborative environment would be accessible to and involve the academic community and students, and will draw upon collaboration between the Library and the Arts Digital Lab. Chief outcomes would be the creation of new research outputs using cultural heritage content; and increased visibility of student and intern involvement in cultural heritage work.
The sponsor for the project is Damian Cairns. Helen Thomas manages the project, with participants Dave Clemens, Peter Kennedy, Linda Sarihan, Mariko Yoshioko and Jennifer Middendorf (Arts Digital Lab).
