Facilities Mgt staff have been in to repair the upstairs loo, which was leaking water into an overflow drain outside. They will complete the repair this afternoon & I asked them to leave the door locked afterwards.

-NOW FIXED.

We’re having problems with the downstairs printer – jobs not printing, repeated copies of one page printing between other jobs, printing but with different page formatting, etc. No problems reported yet with the upstairs printer, so I’ve stuck a note on each downstairs PC recommending that printing be sent to the Level 2 printer, cantws0\LibPSL
Sometimes it works fine though, so some students are still choosing to send their printing to the downstairs printer.

Whenever a problem occurs, please report details to LibraryIT. Shane especially wants to know what type of file is causing the problem.
If it gets repaired, please remove the notes from the 6 downstairs PCs plus the printer.

The emergency door release to the 2nd floor walkway was broken again this morning -for the 5th time! Security were here within a couple of mins but those studying in the area claimed once again to have seen nothing.

5:20pm. Security officer has just been over as they could tell our 2nd floor door to the Physics building was open. On checking, he found the emergency break glass was broken. He’s closed the door & putting in a request for repair plus a siren so that others in the building will be aware if it happens again. Anything stolen??? Students studying in the area saw/heard nothing unusual…
