If users are enquiring about theses, please check with them to see whether there is a digital copy available via the Library Catalogue. Everyday we are getting uneccessary thesis requests presumably because people don’t notice the ‘connect to electronic version’ bit in the catalogue record. It is not just recent theses which have this, sometimes older ones on popular topics have also been digitised.

Catalogiung students visiting
Two MLIS students from Victoria University are visiting the Library today and over the weekend (15-17 Aug) because they have to sit an open-book cataloguing test. Please make Shirley and Stephanie welcome. They need to use some reference tools which are being kept for them at the Help Desk. These are the LC Subject headings (4 red vols) and an AACR2 manual and ringbinder. The books are on the shelves behind where the staff sit, but at the weekend especially the students can help themselves. They are likely to need directions to Collections Services because they need to use the Dewey Decimal schedules up there on Friday.
thanks,
Bronwyn
