I came across this today and found it so interesting. A researcher has made a pirate bay with around 48 million articles available to download. So illegal but all in the name of open access. Wonder if this is where research is heading.

Last Friday we said goodbye to Nicky Ross who has been with UC for the past two years. Her presence will be missed by staff at EPS and Education.

And in true Nicky fashion she baked an amazing cake.

Nicky is heading off to London to continue her career in libraries and we all wish her the best of luck!

(Here’s hoping we see her on The Great British Bake Off).

Our lovely dragon Arero Wera (meaning firey tongue) has won a prize! Congrats to everyone at the Education Library who spent many hours putting him together.  We are particularly impressed by the chili chocolate to go with the fiery dragon theme.

To celebrate her two year anniversary at UC, Nicky made this spectacular cake.

Congratulations Nicky!! Thanks for the years of hard work and delicious cakes. We appreciate it.

In an official statement – ‘Due …to other commitments the Topp Twins have had to change their plans and are now not able to attend Storylines in Christchurch.
