Retail on campus – your comments are needed.
Before 10 am on Wed 20 May I would like to hear your thoughts on the retail options on campus. I am representing the library at a one on one meeting with staff from a company called Brain & Poulter. The company has been employed to undertake a campus wide retail review. They want to hear what the issues, concerns and or benefits with the current campus retail are. I would appreciate receiving your thoughts so that I can incorporate them. They have noted some areas of interest: user groups represented, location, quality, price, brands, what is missing, the importance and use of the library, student kitchens, collaborative spaces.
Bullet points in an email would be good or you can try and find a time to talk with me. Thanks Joan

Coral’s last day and gift – photos
The photos from Coral’s last day are in K:\LIBR-Library\photos-Staff-leaving-functions\Coral-Black. The contributions towards Coral’s gift purchased a cast glass bird for on her wall. We didn’t manage to get good photos of Coral with the bird but there are some in the folder. Nicky Ross kindly shared her photos of the stair race. We know Coral appreciated the effort so many people made to make her last day memorable. Joan

Staff Development Programme
We would like to hear your suggestions for the next staff development programme between semester 1 and 2. We are happy to repeat sessions from previous programmes.
Dates are yet to be confirmed however 22 June – 3 July would avoid school holidays and most of the exams.
Please email Joan Simpson with your suggestions of a session you want to deliver or attend by 5 pm, Thursday 7 May.
Thanks – Library Managers

Staff are invited to attend an open forum being organized by the Access and Collections team on Wednesday 22 April in PJH 210 at 10.30 am. In February 2015 the LAC team responded to a discussion paper prepared by Aurelia Arona and Caroline Syddall “Nga Kohikohinga Maori ki Te Puna Ako – Improving access to the Maori Collections in the Education Library. The response is available here.
At the forum we would like to

– discuss the steps taken to achieve the accessibility we are striving for
– hear from you regarding other ideas or concerns
Please get in touch with Joan if you have any queries regarding this session. The team look forward to the opportunity to meet with you.
