Before you head off this weekend, ITS would like to request that staff log out of their computers. A number of computer updates are scheduled for the evening of this Friday 27 April 2018, and by logging out you can help ensure these run smoothly and your computer is ready to go on Monday morning.

Good morning,
For those of you who might be wondering why I am no longer working Saturdays and have made an appearance here on a Monday, there is a wee bit of explaining required!
As the relocation of the Education Library into the Central Library is about to pick up speed, I have resumed my role as Library Projects Coordinator and will be with the LAC Team on Level 5 until February 2018.
The work to be done over the next few months has been broken down into 4 main Projects:
Project 1 – Education move into Central.
Project 2 – To create space in the Library Warehouse for MB archives we will be moving the A-MZ journals out of the Warehouse to the soon to be formed Library Store in the Henry Field Building (LSHF). A number of Journals from the Law Basement will also be relocated to LSHF.
Project 3 – N-Z journals out of the Library Warehouse and into the Law Basement.
Project 4 – monographs from both TIMG (our off-site storage facility), and Law Basement, into LSHF
The main focus of my role is the Education Library Relocation, representing a major change in our Library services and something I am very pleased to be able to make a contribution towards.

Nathan Wain mentioned in passing that the volume of printing on one machine alone on Level 2 last month was a staggering 16,000 pages in 6 days.
Over the next few days the Detective Fiction Collection will be shifted from its current location on Level 4, but it won’t be moving far – just 3 stacks along from where it is currently shelved.
We need to have the collection relocated to enable Cemac contractors to create an open area between the 3rd and 4th stacks.

There will no IT Workroom assistance available from 1-4pm this afternoon.
