As always, if there is anything you want to send us for inclusion in the next issue, please do so – maybe you’ve been away on holiday and want to share some photos, have a bit of news you want to share, or want us to ask Anne a question on your behalf. Also, if you have ideas on how to improve our monthly offerings, a new segment or suchlike, please feel free. Email either Hugh Joughin, Kathryn Andrews or Simon Cooke.

Pānui Needs You!

Kia ora folks,

We editors need your help for the next issue. We’ve got a list of things we’d like to have submissions for, but are happy to take anything else you see fit to submit. Remember, Pānui is your publication; without you, it is nothing.

  • What have you noticed on your neighbourhood walks or rides that you wouldn’t have noticed had we not gone into lockdown?
  • What are your favourite lockdown recipes? What tasty treats are getting you through the days? Recipes and pictures please!
  • Inspiration in lockdown – write a poem, draw a picture or build a sculpture; embrace the creative spirit in you and send us the pics.
  • Or do as Hugh has done, and pimp your front garden with lights for the joy of all nocturnal walkers – and send us photos!

Send your submissions to any of us, your editors: Kiera Tauro, Fiona Tyson, Hugh Joughin and Simon Cooke. Keep well and be happy.

The Law Basement : A Story Of Two Lifts

Fun fact: lifts are currently on the blink at the moment over at Law. Only one wasn’t working when I went down to the Law basement, but the other decided to play silly games when I wanted to come back up. Security are aware.

And in case you are worried, I escaped via the door by the loading bay that had a sign that indicated it was alarmed. But it looked pretty relaxed to me.

Central VHS collection shifted to Law Basement

I’m guessing some of you out there don’t know what VHS is, but if you do and are part of an even smaller sub-set that cares, the videos that were housed on level two at Central are now in the Law Basement (Bay 48 to be precise) – E-Services will do a batch change to reflect it on the catalogue in the slim chance someone (possibly from an alternate dimension where VHS still reigns supreme) actually requests one.
