New OA agreements in 2024

In addition to existing agreements, new in 2024 are :

Company of Biologists

ACM Digital Library

All ACM journals, uncapped, hybrid & gold.  ACM aim to be a fully OA publisher by 2026.  See author guide here.

American Psychological Association (APA)

As always authors should use their official UC email address to submit, and be aware eligible article types may differ.  We’ll ask for our library libguide to updated with CAUL libguide links in the New Year, thanks Kiera 😊

Free webinar on non-traditional publishing

Toby Green will be interviewing Dr Amanda Lawrence, Research Fellow from RMIT regarding the uplift in publishing outside of formal publication channels and what it means for discovery, collection development and the scholarly record, as well as what Amanda’s research tell us about the needs of researchers and practitioners outside academia, especially policy makers.

Expanded list of Elsevier titles eligible for APC waivers

Due to low levels of publishing via Elsevier’s OA/Read & Publish agreement, they have agreed to extend the list of titles eligible for an APC waiver.    CAUL’s included title list is now updated and available on the OA agreements libguide.
For newly eligible titles, only articles accepted from June 15th onwards will benefit from an APC waiver.

CAUL is aware of complaints about Elsevier’s author submission page (should be clearer now), so happy to take any feedback you receive back to CAUL.
