It’s that time of year again, to double-check due dates of interloans issued at the desk are adjusted to 2020, not 2019.
This avoids patrons recieving overdue notices for items showing as overdue by a year!
Many thanks from the Interloans team

The Online Ergonomic Self-Assessment tool is a handy guide to double-check your workstation set-up is safe for you.
A good set-up is the key to preventing musculoskeletal discomfort, pain, and injury from repetitive work-related tasks.
Anyone in the library can request an ergonomic assessment, where a trained assessor will come visit, and order equipment that might help. Get in touch with your H&S rep or manager if you have discomfort, or just want to know your workstation is as ergonomic-friendly as it can be.
Useful to know when dealing with desk/Asklive queries about how long an interloan might take :
We can’t legally interloan entire e-books, which can disappoint patrons expecting urgent delivery. We can weigh up purchasing access to ebooks instead of interloaning, or patrons can request individual chapters, if they don’t want to wait for a loan to be posted.
Loans of entire books can take between 1-6 weeks – which can be frustrating, but is the time it sometimes takes depending on where in the world it’s coming from.
Even chapters or articles can take a while, if supplied from a publisher that only allow interloans to be sent by print/post, rather than electronic delivery. Which is why we often purchase articles where we can direct from the publisher – it’s much better to deliver a PDF straight to the patron.
Always happy to take calls on 93399 or Asklive queries transferred to the Interloans queue, if you need an update on behalf of a patron.

There is now an AskLIVE widget from the Interloans page, that will go to an Interloans queue, but only when interloans staff are logged in. If none of us are, chats will go to the main AskLIVE group.
If you want to forward a query to the Interloans queue, please send Glenna, Mariko, Wendy or myself an IM first to check we’re around before you transfer.

Patrons renew interloans by clicking ‘RENEW’ on the title in their Interloan Account, or by contacting interloans staff.
We ask information desk staff not to check-in interloans and check them back out again – as renewals have to be ok’d by the supplying library. Someone from interloans is usually around to pop down to the desk or answer queries by phone :
