There is a possibility an interloan book has been shelved in one of our libraries by mistake – has anyone come across this?

A software upgrade that will prevent access to the interloans interface is now due to happen Tuesday-Wednesday this week, not Monday-Tuesday as first planned. Staff and students can use their interloans account for all of today.

Please apologise to staff or students as this last-minute change is out of our control.

Hi all

Some staff have been recalling books out on interloan, that have been requested by a UC borrower. Just a reminder that interloan staff run a regular report for items requested while out on interloan. We then contact libraries individually to return items – so please don’t recall interloan items yourself, but do let us know if you have questions about a book you think should be returned early.

Thanks to all the staff who scan books and journals for interloans. Just a reminder that we would prefer pages to be scanned without dark margins, and without being reduced smaller than they appear on the page. Cheers, Sue

The book “Vegetation classification of an area on coal measures” is in transit to Interloans at Education as of the 16th April. Has anyone seen this?

Just in the last few minutes we’ve noticed our interloans request system is down – so users won’t be able to place requests. Please advise users to try the site later on rather than emailing requests through to Interloans, thanks, Sue

Hi all

Just a reminder to always edit the due date of an interloan when checking out to a borrower. In some cases you may need to edit the date back from the default date Horizon provides.

The Interloans team may now email your library to scan and save PDFs from journals held in your library.

For Central Library staff, Interloans will request volumes through IBDS, and email lending@libr.canterbury.ac.nz to ask for specific articles to be scanned.

For all other branch libraries, Interloans will send an email to your main email address, providing details of the journal/book and article/chapter to be scanned, and where to save it to. Please name the PDF with the ILL number provided to you by Interloans staff.

I’m part of a group helping to plan the Learning Resources Xmas party, set for the 15th December. The group has agreed to canvas our areas for entertainment suggestions. Possible ideas brainstormed so far include a dress-up contest, egg-and-spoon races, a talent contest with teams representing each area of LR, a light-hearted awards ceremony, and a comedic volunteer to MC.

If anyone in the library has a bright suggestion, I’d be glad to take it to the next planning meeting.
