Access to level 10, 9 and 7 of the Central Library

Just a reminder that access to these levels is not approved by Hawkins accept at the arranged times and with a Hawkins escort. Access outside these times may be arranged, but then again may not, by calling in to the Hawkins Office on level 5 and talking to Jock, or Sid. Access depends on the work that they have got going at the time and if not convenient your request will be politely declined.
Thanks

Level five of the James Hight Library

This is the latest update on level five from Trevor Lyttle in the Security Office(3rd August 2011).
Access to level five is still restricted as level five is still a “Hawkins” floor. Access is available to those with hard hats, high viz vests and an escort from security. Security escorts have to be booked in with the Security office (ext 6888) in advance so that security can schedule a guard. Until level five is released back to the University, staff should avoid going there unless they comply with the requirments of Hawkins and Security.

Horrie Brown Collection items

The Horrie-Brown Collection items that were in the Law Basement now show on OPAC as being in store D (Crown). It looks like a global change was made on the 10th of January. However Crown do not have one of these items on their database which is wanted to fill a request. How does Lending fill requests for items such as these which have no barcode number on them?
Thanks in advance.

Hampers

Please use only the blue 6inch deep hampers and the green 6 inch deep hampers for the hamper run between libraries. The grey 10 inch deep hampers are for collection services who use it to transport theses to the bindery/printery. The 14 inch deep blue hampers are only for major book shifts. The warehouse staff will not move either of the later two types of crates.
If anyone has any of the regular crates sitting around empty please put them out for the warehouse to return to the Central Library packing room.
Thanks
