The hand dryer in the level 2 gents does not automatically switch off. It is currently turned off at the wall but it will probably not be until Monday that FM are able to fix it. Would those Gentlemen staff who work between now and Monday please keep an eye on the dryer and make sure it is turned off especially before hometime.
Thanks

Level three lights Central Library
This morning the light switch sensor in the lift bay for level 3 failed which left most of level 3 in the dark. FM have been over and replaced the faulty sensor with a new one this afternoon. Over the weekend please note if there are any problems with it. This mornings instructions about turning the lights on at the North East Stair over the weekend are not necessary unless the new one plays up. Pat Keogh assures me that it has been tested so there should be no problem.

Warehouse shelving
One of the rolling wheels on the QE section of warehouse shelves has come off. I will fix it tomorrow afternoon. This will ake it impossible to collect from the PN-QE journal section of the warehouse tomorrow morning. Sorry about that.

Diskette storage cases
I have some diskette storage cases that are surplus to Central Library Lending Services requirements. Any Branch libraries that could use them are welcome to them, please let me know before the end of the week, otherwise they will be free to anyone who wants them.

Fire evacuation procedures
During fire evacuations staff are expected to pick up a paddle, clear the area and take the paddle to the south corridor on level one to hang the paddle up and report to the Building warden. We now have a new evacuation board so that IN ADDITION to the above procedure, floor wardens hanging the paddle should also slide the indicator for the floor cleared to the all clear position.

Notice from FM about Fan testing today (Friday 5th June)
Pat Keogh has just sent me this message
Just a bit of info on what is happening today Between 1.00pm and 2.30pm we will be testing the fans in the two tower stairs, this means the fans will run and our staff member will hold the bottom door open to get the correct air flow, they will not let anyone exit. Please let the help desk know as the door alarm buzzer will operate.
We will do one stair at a time.
Thanks

Level one work
There will be work going on on level 1 in the bindery tomorrow which may involve welding smell. THe contractors have been asked to keep the windows open to minimise the smell but there may still be some smell that percolates elsewhere.

Music CDs
The last of the music CDs are now out on display. The PAC displays “CD. Level 2.”
There are still some CDs that will not be put out on display. The reason for that is that they are bulky and do not easily fit in the display stands. In this case the PAc note field says: “Ask at Lending Desk” in addition to the above location.
