A reminder that we have cancelled our online subscriptions to the National Business Review (NBR) and the Economist.
Janette, Maria and I are organising for the 2019 print issues of both title to be bound so if anyone is looking for an issue please let us know and we can organise a copy.
In 2018 I was fortunate to receive a Rosalind Patrick award to attend the 38th Annual Course of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) in Sydney, Australia.
I was at the course last week and as is tradition (and what I promised in my application) I will give a report back on Tuesday 12th November at 2pm in 210.
I’ll talk about the course, what I learnt, the new connections I made AND show you my multiple selfies in front of the Opera House from land and harbour.
At the Christmas lunch we will be making staff awards in the following categories:
Whakahoahoa (Partnership)
Kotahitanga (Unity and teamwork)
Manaakitanga (Caring for People)
Ako me to Mātauranga (Learning and Knowledge)
Kaitiakitanga (Guardianship)
Definitions can be found at K:\LIBR\Management\Planning\Libr-Values-2015-2016
You can nominate your colleagues for one (or more) of these categories by emailing me (theresa.buller@canterbury.ac.nz) with a short explanation of your reasons for nominating.
Nominations close Thursday 14th November.
Any questions to me or the other Christmas lunch organising elves (Kim, Brian or Lydia)
In exciting news (and indicating the eventual demise of our old NZ Gazette CD Archive once the earlier years are complete) NZLII and the PCO have digitised the New Zealand Gazettes from 1946 to 1992!!!
http://www.nzlii.org/nz/other/nz_gazette/
The Gazettes are the newspaper of the NZ Government so have lots of information about legislation, Honours, land and other important Governmentey things…
