NBR and the Economist

A reminder that we have cancelled our online subscriptions to the National Business Review (NBR) and the Economist.

Janette, Maria and I are organising for the 2019 print issues of both title to be bound so if anyone is looking for an issue please let us know and we can organise a copy.

IALL reportback

Kia ora koutou

In 2018 I was fortunate to receive a Rosalind Patrick award to attend the 38th Annual Course of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) in Sydney, Australia.

I was at the course last week and as is tradition (and what I promised in my application) I will give a report back on Tuesday 12th November at 2pm in 210.

I’ll talk about the course, what I learnt, the new connections I made AND show you my multiple selfies in front of the Opera House from land and harbour.

Please book here: https://canterbury.libcal.com/event/5222234

Pacific Law Subject Guide – now live!

Warm Pacific greetings!

Caroline S., Kim and I are delighted to let you know that we have made our Pacific Law Subject Guide LIVE!!!

http://canterbury.libguides.com/pacificlaw

It will now show up in the Subject Guides lists

This has been a big piece of work to identify material which:

  • highlights the depth of the MB print collection in this area

and

  • provide links to online resources to support Pacific legal research.

We will be continuing to add content to the Subject Guide and welcome any and all feedback on this!

The NZ Gazette – 1946 to 1992

In exciting news (and indicating the eventual demise of our old NZ Gazette CD Archive once the earlier years are complete) NZLII and the PCO have digitised the New Zealand Gazettes from 1946 to 1992!!!

http://www.nzlii.org/nz/other/nz_gazette/

The Gazettes are the newspaper of the NZ Government so have lots of information about legislation, Honours, land and other important Governmentey things…
