The library assignment for POLS 102 has been released on Learn and there are around 130 students in the class.
With a due date of March 21st I have organised 2 face to face sessions for students via the following booking page
The assignment is a scaled down version of previous years, so should be less taxing for students and less demand on desk staff.
Please direct students to enrol in one of the face to face sessions above in the first instance.
A reminder that the planned Wednesday real time session for this conference is no longer happening here at UC.
Instead I will be checking out access to the recorded sessions and getting back to library staff with options for using these as possible group PD sessions over the next few weeks, as well as seeing how individual staff members can access the conference sessions
I’ll post information on accessing the recorded sessions when I can test and confirm access requirements.
‘Real time’ conference attendance is now on hold due to confirmation of the time zone differences (we would all be very sleepy).
I’ll post info on accessing the recorded sessions when I can confirm access requirements.

I’ll be adding more detail about this web based conference event as I firm up the exact times (U.S. time zones need to be converted to NZ time).
I have no information about how staff would need to negotiate taking time to attend (so please discuss with your manager) but there should be a follow-up option to view and/or hear each speaker on-demand, as part of our site wide registration for this conference. Programme information.
‘Academic track’ sessions include:
Mastering the Transition: Patron Driven Acquisition and Ebook Discovery
Marketing Ebooks to Students
I’m getting my lost name badge replaced and Maureen asked if I would advise other staff to e-mail her if anyone needs one. Please specify whether you require first name only, or surname as well.
Any follow-up questions are best sent to Maureen.
Just as a follow up to Peter Lund’s recent post on Counterculture. A couple of people have asked as to the exact location of the online booking sheet for the room.
It can be found via the Book a Room or Equipment link on the library’s home page. It is under Lib Staff Meeting Rooms (Lib staff only). The room is listed as ‘Central Library 307 (4)’, although the actual room number is 306, I’m sure that this can be corrected soon.
