Paul Cooper has confirmed Easter 2017 to start fumigating EPS, EDU and CEN libraries. All going well, work is likely to start after closing on Thursday (13 April 2017) so please enjoy your weekend and keep the space clear to allow fumigation to go uninterrupted.
The space will be safe to use when the libraries reopen on Wednesday 19 April 2017.
Occupants of Puaka James Hight building from level 2 to 5 have been notified. The Undercroft is not included in this fumigation exercise.
If there are any issues please contact Paul Cooper, Site Operations Supervisor, Property & Vehicle Services on 027 2469683.
CCL will have a pop up booth, on level 2 in Central Library, 12-2pm on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Feel free to share this with students who may be interested in joining up and seeing what CCL has to offer.
We are trialling a different way of organising the training programme so that there are more options of what, when and where courses are held.
Why change?
People are on leave (both potential instructors and staff)
Huge competition for venue bookings and resources
February is a very busy time for a full block course
We need more flexibility
What’s changed?
Moving from a block course occurring in Feb and mid-year to an annual (continuous) calendar
Instructors will need to book the venue, date and time for their course and edit/fill out the Staff Development Training Calendar saved in SharePoint (follow the instructions in the spreadsheet)
All types of staff development training can be included in the spreadsheet, so people can see what is going on and when (e.g. LIANZA social media or other training external to the library such as Academic Development Workshops for Staff)
Anyone can add content to the SharePoint calendar, just click open in Excel and Edit. Remember to click Save when finished
What’s staying the same?
Coordination and administration support continues with Customer Services
Online registration
Notification of courses shared via counterculture
Please check out the calendar and add course info as needed.

Over the year’s, the library has provided a ‘welcome/hello’ in many languages for students. This is usually printed out and placed like a banner at the information desk.

If you speak another language other than English, would you please have a look at the list and let me know of any corrections needed.
