This is what we call the Library Awards Show!

To make a nomination, please email

by 12.00 noon, Thursday 5 December 2015

SUBJECT:
Library awards nomination

BODY:
Include the nominee’s name and the reason they deserve the award in 2015

PHOTOS/IMOVIE:
All supporting evidence is welcome

And the Categories are:

1: GOLDEN BAND AID AWARD Dedicated to the person who has made a great effort to promote our collective health, safety, sanity and wellbeing. Who will it be this year?

2: PARDON MY BLOOPER AWARD Unintended indiscretions are most welcome in this award category. Have you ever had a moment where you thought “I should have stayed in bed this morning” or “it’s one of those days”? Have you ever wondered if perhaps the universe set its sights on you and decided to have a laugh? If you have found yourself or someone else in a funny situation this year and don’t mind sharing the joy with your colleagues, we would love to hear about it. (Please check with the person prior to submission where possible)

3: WAY WITH WORDS AWARD In previous years, this award has been described thus “Professional writing skills such as a book, conference paper, article, suggestion board, etc” (never really like that ‘etc’ tacked on the end of anything) While previous winners were, in keeping with the nature of these awards, not anywhere near that mark, we believe that, in 2015, with the advent and growth of email and social media messaging applications, this description was in need of a bit of an overhaul. So, the award this year goes to the person who: By whatever communication tool, either took the high road, the scenic route, the obstacle course, the direct but very fraught way, experienced mechanical failure, or just failed to control the vehicle and crashed and burned. The award goes to..

4: CULINARY DELIGHTS AWARD Every team has at least one. That person who always impresses with their baking skills, or their flair with food. Who is yours? We want to know, so we can reward them!

5: HANDS UP AWARD For that person who consistently puts their ‘hand up’, volunteers their time, skill and resources to assist and support others in any number of ways.

This is what we call the Library Awards Show!

We’ve been thinking and we want our fabulous winners to receive a bit of love, a bit of aroha if you will. So we are calling for voluntary donations for prize hampers; donations can be anything that you think would be nice to find in a christmas hamper. There is no monetary value assigned to donations, it’s voluntary and all in the spirit of giving “awhi mai, awhi atu”.

All donations will go towards the Library Awards Hampers and Spot prizes. Donations are gratefully received at locations below, up until 12:00 noon, Thursday 10 December 2015.

LIANZA Conference – check out the keynote web casts

We had a great time at Shout! Karanga Rā! 2015.  It was a wonderful event with inspiring keynotes, a packed programme, and lots of laughter and learning.   If you missed it you can catch up with the keynotes here.

They were recorded by GigTV.  We’ll have photos up from our awesome photographer Jeremy Hill very soon but in the interim you can check out a selection on our Recollect site – help  capture who was there by logging in and tagging your friends.

A big shout out to everyone who helped to make it a success – our delegates, our exhibitors, presenters, keynotes, MC, sound guys, techs, event staff, and the conference and programme committee.

LIANZA Conference 2017 comes to Ōtautahi!
