Things have reached a crisis point with the Commerce collection move to Law. The collection is being delivered in batches and being tagged but I now need urgent help getting the material on to the shelves in roughly the right place. I need library staff who are familiar with LC classification to help the Law library staff complete this task from this Thursday afternoon until the bulk of the work is done – estimated to finish Friday 11 Feb.
Here is a roster
for people to log their commitment. I can take up to four people at each time slot – we are restricted by the number of trolleys available. Please check with your manager before volunteering.
The roster is in two hour slots except for 8-9am. If you can only do 1 and a half hours in a slot please put your name in anyway.
You will get a great welcome at the library and you will get a lot of personal satisfaction knowing that you have helped to ensure that the entire collection is accessible to users.
Thanks in advance from the Project Leader:

Education Library does not have dvd equipment capable of playing dvd’s that are not Region 4 (i.e. Australasia). Do any of our libraries have dvd equipment able to play, in particular, Region 2 (Japanese/Chinese) dvd’s or is there somewhere else they can go on campus to do this?
Students asking for this book at the desk (we have 2 copies in 3hr loan, the rest in 3 day loan) might like to know that there is a new book by Gibbons “English learners, academic literacy and thinking” also with 2 copies in 3hr loan. The lecturer, Jocelyn Howard, says that while this is not a text for this course, the ideas in it are just as good.
2 copies of each of the following have been put in 3hr loan.
Positive puberty
Everybody belongs
Kotahitanga: getting on together
Creating a positive classroom community
Change, loss and grief
Choice food
Healthy people eat healthy food
Looking after ourselves
We also have one copy of each in 3d loan, and multiple copies on Level 2.
We also have the cheat sheet by the desk to help find the call numbers for this series.
