I’ve just had a rash of enquiries with students wanting to make a colour, enlarged photocopy of their driving licence for an application to Corrections Dept for voluntary work.
Just a reminder that if they don’t have access to a colour copier one way to do this is to make a colour scan, and then copy the scan into Paint, resize it, and copy again to word, then print it to the colour printer (and change the default settings from b/w to colour).
Thanks
Isabel
Tonight there is an event in the undercroft, and the tables and chairs have been moved into the staff entrance/exit foyer. As our building warden, Tim is following up with the event organisers to ensure that appropriate exits are maintained, and also access to our after-hours returns box.
In an emergency evacuation that is triggered by a fire alarm, the emergency exit doors that are normally locked will release to allow free exit from the building. The doors re lock when the alarms are turned off and re set.
It may be the case that a building evacuation is required in a situation where the evacuation is not triggered by a fire alarm e.g. power cut. In situations such as this the evacuation exit doors will remain locked. In circumstances such as these, staff should not hesitate to use the Emergency Door Release button to exit a floor or building.
Please let your building warden, or me, know if you have any questions,
Thanks

Just a reminder if you come across students who are experiencing delays in completing their enrolment that you can assist them in accessing courses in Learn using our ‘libhelp’ login. You need to use this username in the ‘Not from a Tuakiri member institution? Click here to log in’
Your coordinators and supervisors have been reminded of the password for this access so please ask them to refresh you!

A number of us are having trouble logging into Outlook this morning. An error message is generated asking “allow this website to configure…” etc. and pressing Allow or Cancel does not change the situation. ICTS Help Desk recommend that you log an Assyst job if you are experiencing the same problem.
A big thank you to all the customer services team who have been involved in the Central Inventory project to date. Last Friday we completed the scanning of Level 4. The contributions of all have made this possible, and it is an excellent feeling to have completed this part of the project on time.
The Library H&S committee would be pleased to hear any ideas you may have, in keeping with the theme of ‘health and wellbeing’ that we can develop for our programme for this year. Please email me any suggestions you might have – perhaps you have seen activities in other workplaces or when you are out and about, family and friends have talked about activities where they work etc. All suggestions received with interest! These will be discussed at our next meeting, scheduled for March.
