Hi all

As in previous years, Canterbury cards and Parking permits for new students will be issued in the Central Library from 9th – 20th February, 8.30am-5pm. Outside these hours, Canterbury Cards can be issued from the Security Office.

They will be based in the north-west corner of Level 3; signage will be on the front steps of Puaka-James Hight and also at the podium stairs on Level 2.

All Canterbury cards for new students will be issued from the Central Library; Canterbury Cards for new staff will be issued from the security office.

Thanks

Central Library Hot Desk PC

Hi all

The hard drive has failed on this machine and we now have a replacement external drive, while the not-so-old hard drive is sent off for repair under warranty. E-services have confirmed they expect day end to run as normal. There may be some software missing (eg specialized printers) so please let me know if this is a problem and we can follow up.

Please do not shut this external hard drive down under any circumstances.

Let me know if there are any issues or you have questions,
Thanks
Isabel

Puaka-James Hight – Fire Alarm Maintenance and Testing

Hi all

We are advised that this will take place all day, Thursday 15th January 2015.

“Manual call points and smoke detectors will not activate the fire sounders or signal the fire service. Fire sprinklers will remain operational”.

In the event of an emergency dial 1-111, and also security 6-111.
Fire alarm sounders will operate intermittently during this period of work.

Thanks
Isabel

Update from Rosie

Hi all

We have heard that Rosie expects to have surgery on Thursday this week. I’d like to arrange to have flowers sent to her from the Library on Friday, so if you would like to contribute to this there is an envelope on my desk. If the surgery is postponed, or Rosie is admitted to a ‘no flowers’ ward, I will delay sending the flowers until it has taken place or she has been discharged from hospital.

Regards
Isabel
