We are pleased to welcome Sarah Fraser and Annie O”Brien to the casual team. Both have been students here reasonably recently and share our enthusiasm for libraries. We completed their induction last week, and you may have seen them at your library. Next they will be undertaking their ‘buddy’ shift at Central library this week, and then will be available on the pool. Please make them welcome when they are in your library, especially for the first time.
Today we welcomed Josh Agnew as a work experience volunteer at Central Library. He will be with us Monday-Friday from 9am-1pm undertaking a range of tasks and gaining an overview of library assistant tasks and how a library works. Please make him welcome, particularly in the tea room.
There is an all-Liaison-team meeting on Friday 12th September, 2-3pm at Education Library. There will be a no liaison referral service from 1.30pm as most will be travelling to the meeting, however I am anticipating that some Liaisons will log back to AskLive after 3.00pm. Please use email to refer any issues to the liaisons during this period.
Thanks
Isabel
Sara has advised that she and Theresa are away today and tomorrow (back Friday) at the Law Liaisons Symposium in Wellington. John Arnold will pick up any pressing questions from law students until they return, so please refer them to him. Thanks John!
Quyen Nguyen, a staff member in our late team, and also a UC Masters’ student, is conducting a research project investigating how leaders can influence behaviours in the workplace as part of a dissertation for her Master of Science in Industrial and Organisational Psychology.
Your participation in the survey is welcomed! The letter to participants is here, and the survey here.
The survey is expected to take 15 minutes and you will be in the draw to win one of eight $100 Westfield vouchers!
The customer services teams across the libraries are planning a number of low key events to celebrate this day with the students. You will see some flowers, lollies, inspirational quotes and other acts of kindness that we can pass on during the day.
It would also be great if this day could be enjoyed amongst the library teams, so feel free to put your thinking hats on and share with your colleagues.
Following two resignations from the late team, I am pleased to announce appointments to these positions. Tarver Boparai will be joining the Wednesday/Thursday team commencing 13th August and Josephine (Josie) Dransfeld the Monday/Tuesday team commencing 25th August. We will have having a one day induction for them tomorrow in the Central Library.
Just letting you all know that we are advertising a vacancy on our library assistant – late team – at Central. If you know of students or others who would be keen, please let them know. The position closes on 13th July.
