Our annual can drive kicks off next week!

We are really hoping to get a decent amount this year so are reaching out to staff to help us. We know that the City Mission really appreciates our efforts so lets impress them with stacks!

Ngā mihi!!

Today kicks off the first day of ‘Can’ your fines!

It is the same premise as usual where 1 can of food waives $5 from fines (excluding lost book charges).

We are hoping we get a better uptake then we did last year and I encourage staff to contribute too. Even just 1 can will help someone in need. If you do wish to donate please add your can to one of the displays at PJH, EPS or MB.

Any questions just let me know. 🙂

Ngā mihi,

Zina

‘Can’ your fines

‘Can’ your fines will run from 18 – 31 October.

It will be the same premise as most other years whereby 1 x can of food wipes $5 of library fines. This does not include charges for lost books.

I have also added on the marketing material that out of date cans will not be accepted so please check them when they are brought to the front desk.

If staff wish to donate too that would be greatly appreciated. Let’s see how big we can make the stack of cans this year!

Exhibition

Kia ora koutou,

I just thought I would share with everyone that my exhibition “Strange  Pomander”  has just opened at Jonathan Smart Gallery in Sydenham. It was actually supposed to open on the 28th of August but couldn’t for obvious reasons.

Please to do check it out/have a smell if you are interested. 🙂

Kia ora koutou,

I just thought I would pop these links up here for anyone who is curious about what I get up to in my art life.

I recently had an exhibition open in Tauranga at a gallery called Sumer.

The text in both links is written by author Chloe Lane who has just released her debut novel titled Swimmers. We have a copy in the library which I have just finished and can highly recommend.

‘Can’ your fines has been extended for another week.

Our stack isn’t quite as large as previous years. I actually brought in a few cans of my own to bolster the EPS stack! We welcome everyone else to do the same if they are able.

Marketing September Update

What have we been doing?

Covid 19 put a spanner in the works for a number of events we were working towards including Open Day!

We are now gearing up for Study week and Exams where we will be running another Golden Ticket hunt. Everyone who finds a ticket receives a UCPUNA tote full of goodies.

Spring Grad Fest kicks off on Tuesday 27 October. Promotional material is nearly ready for release and a subject guide is being created.

Our social media platforms continue to grow with the below post on Facebook reaching 2000 people.

Reminders

  • We’re always looking for more social media content, so if you have any ideas/content please email Fiona for Twitter, Kiera for Facebook and Juliet for Instagram
  • If you have something that you want the Marketing Team to promote please remember that we need at least two weeks notice to create promotional materials/get organised/create a marketing plan. You’ll also need to have all the information about the event ready to go, including a description of it, a short tagline we can use for social media, and any images/branding you want included

“OK I might just do that as I like the atmosphere in the library. :)”

Just posting a nice comment I had this morning on AskLive.

PJH has been busy this morning reaching our 600 capacity early in the day!
