The lifts are stuck on level 7. I have reported this to Security and they are arranging for technician to fix.

Printer INV0078 has been displaying an error message – “Tray 1 error …” and “recurring error …”

I turned it off and on again and checked tray one at 9.20 after which the display read – “ready”.

Exception to the rule – don’t turn ANTH students away if they are asking for their Course Reader! The Course Reader for ANTH 205/305 has been placed on Reserve for the next week as an interim measure so students can access to it before their first two tutorials. Photocopy number is R10,707.

Alert Library staff will have noticed that a good number of chairs have been stacked up at the end of the Level 5 Staff room. This was in response to a theory that the number of chairs was rising, and cloning was suspected.

There are between 80 to 90 chairs in the staff room, in varying states of repair and comfort. Over the next two weeks, please feel free to remove chairs from those stacked, in order that we may settle on the optimum number of chairs normally required in this room. Also feel free to add any uncomforatable or shabby chairs to the stacked pile.

After a couple of weeks, I will assess the number of chairs to retain, and dispose of the remainder.

The level 9 photocopier is now a mopier with student printing available – but no scan to email function.

By default, students logging into Library PCS on levels 2 – 4 will get printing to Level 2. Students logging into PCs on levels 6, 8 – 11 will get printing on Level 9. They can over-ride this if they manually choose their printer.

To print to the new colour printer outside the Copy Centre, students can simply select the following printer from the drop down menu:
CopyCentreColour on cantwso.
Students should be aware that if they send a black & white job to this printer, it will be charged at colour prices (85c)

The ColourPass printer is still available but prints to the PC inside the Copy Centre and requires the student to ask Copy Centre staff to release the job.

One of the paper trays on the LibCen printer (S3786200270) won’t open. I have phoned Ricoh and they will repair today.

Telephone directories have been shifted from behind the Help Desk to the end of the Reference Collection above the electoral rolls.

Corrections are being made to the directional board and other signage in the Central Library. Floors maps are going to be redesigned.

These issues are in hand. Philip is in charge of ensuring Library signage is corrected and installed.

The Level 4 Dewey items which have been residing in the Level 4 training room are being moved this week. Their new location is at the end of the PQ sequence on Level 4.
