Q-QE is being moved to level 3 in the area between the lifts. The New Zealand Government Publications and Antarctic Collection have also been moved on level 3 to the stacks nearest the window between the lifts.

PQ is moving up to the north east corner of level 4. This move will begin on Tuesday December 2.

The Restricted Loans Feature films on DVD/VCD are now housed at the top end of the back wall of shelving, behind the Lending Desk.
For now Restricted Loan documentaries on DVD and all the videos remain in running number sequence. They will be moved to the back wall
as well, in the not too distant future.

For the last few days there have been some Daleks on the Central Library loading Bay looking quite lost despite the label on them which says “Law Library”.
The warehouse staff will not move anything without a BIEMS request , no matter how well labelled, so please remember to put a BIEMS request in to have items moved between libraries.

On Tuesday 25th November the fire protection system will be shut off to allow Chub to test the alarms. No alarms will operate or sound but the sprinkler system will still work.
In the event of an emergency please phone 111 and undertake to clear the building. This sort of shutdown is a regular yearly occurence and should be uneventful. I will be away that day so the acting building warden will be Angela Berry.

For those people on Checkin duty. When Level 4 Dewey items are returned please place in the Collections basket (not on top of the Level 4 trolley). We are fast tracking these items to Collections. No need to label or write a note even! Julie Lewis knows they are on their way.

The CL Dewey items have been moved from Level 4 open shelves into the Level 4 Training Room.
The PAC message reads ‘Ask at Lending Desk, Level 2’. This is so that you can give our borrowers the following advice: Place a request on ‘In Library’ items and they will be picked up in the next IBDS collection and be placed on the CL Hold shelves. See Bib 963076 for an example.
Note that IBDS collections are down to once a day at 2 pm over Summer.
