Infoshare

Infoshare, the replacement for INFOS, has now been fully updated. INFOS is still available until Wednesday 19 August 2009, after which time it will be decommissioned.

With Infoshare, you can now:

• find and download detailed exports and imports data (by HS code and country)
• save queries for reuse
• use time-series identifiers to find specific data.

The country groups function in the select variables screen for imports, exports and re-exports is currently unavailable. For example, country groups include APEC, OECD and ASEAN.

Annual Register Trial

We have trial access to the Annual Register until the end of May. Access is from the Electronic Resources Trials page on the Library Web.

Product Description: The Annual Register is a classic reference work providing historians and students with information on the major and minor events of the last two and a half centuries, as they were seen by contemporaries. From James Cook’s landing on the shores of Australia to the Iraq war, The Annual Register contains a wealth of information with reports on every country in the world. The new printed volume of The Annual Register will be added to the digital version every year.

Coverage / Backfile: Annual issues from 1758-2007 are currently available in The Annual Register online. In 2009 the 250th anniversary edition of The Annual Register will be published and this will be added to the online version before the end of 2009.

Emerald Engineering Database

As part of our subscription to EMX, we have been given free access to the Emerald Engineering Database. This will continue through to 2011.

There are 18 journals included, 8 of which we already have access to via Emerald. The 10 new titles are:

Swine Flu Information

EBSCO is providing free access to swine flu information from DynaMed.

“The DynaMed topic on Swine Influenza consolidates information from multiple sources for health care providers to stay current with recommendations for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating patients with flu-like illnesses during this outbreak. Emerald’s Journal of the Week feature provides free weekly access to two of Emerald’s high quality journals. You will be able to access, free of charge, all content from the featured journals, which are available as part of Emerald Management Plus. We will have access to some titles, but others will be outside our subscription.

Encyclopaedia Britannica School Edition

Encyclopaedia Britannica has given us access to Britannica Online School Edition, in addition to our Academic Edition of EB. This will allow trainee teachers to see the version school students use and will be a big help to them in their preparation of classroom resources, etc.

Britannica school is part of Encyclopædia Britannica online and offers content for preK-12 at three levels: Senior High School, Middle School and Primary School. Includes magazines, journals, web sites, multimedia, as well as Merriam-Webster dictionary and world atlas. Find access via the Catalogue and the Databases-E page.

The School Edition has been made available via EPIC at no extra charge (with a sub to EBO).
