Adobe Connect Add-in Update

There has been an update to Adobe Connect. If you are having trouble loading Adobe Connect you may need to update the Add-in.

The Add-in can be downloaded from Adobe here:

If you are on a UC managed computer the latest update should be installed automatically, but can also be installed from the Software Center.

More information on the Adobe Connect Meeting Addin can be found on the Adobe Website.

Library 101 Workshops Available Now

library101_icon_webJust a reminder to please promote Library 101 workshops far and wide to students and staff.

The following sessions are on offer in the first term:

  • Finding Course Readings
  • Finding Books and Journal Articles
  • APA Referencing – Commerce/Education/Engineering/Science

More workshops will be offered in the second term.

Library 101 workshops can be booked through the Book a Library Workshop link on the Library website.

Library 101

Library 101 will be running again in 2016.library101_icon_web

The programme will be expanded a little this semester with a few new classes and also offering some of the sessions more than once.

I’d like to let everyone know what will be on offer and ask that you promote the sessions to students and academics whenever you get the chance!

Also, before the classes go live, I’m looking to get some more interesting names for the classes. If anyone has any serious suggestions for names for any of the Library 101 classes please email me or leave a comment below.

Any help will be much appreciated!

  • Find and Manage Course Readings (x 2)
  • Independent Research Using the Library (x 2)
  • APA Referencing for Science/Commerce/Engineering/Education Students (4 separate subject specific sessions run twice each)
  • Google Scholar (new class, no name yet)
  • Introduction to Journals for Science Students
  • Introduction to Using Art, Archives and Photos in Assignments
  • Creative Commons (new class, no name yet – the name may need to explain what CC is in some way)

The names of the current classes are informative but maybe we can come up with some more interesting names that still let students know what the class is about. Or perhaps we can just make the names a bit shorter and snappier.
