its been a little over 2 weeks now since we had a meeting to discuss 2018 Library Hours and plenty has been happening in the background since! If you went to the K drive and read the UCSA report after my previous Counterculture post, you’ll be aware that more than 1750 students responded to the survey, and you will have seen their full text comments. The two UCSA documents are still in the K drive at K:\LIBR-Library\Management\Opening-hours, so if you have not yet had a read, it is worth doing so. There you will also find a document that summarises the discussion from the Thursday 29th June Library meeting and also the revised proposed hours for 2018 .
UCSA tabled their report on the survey for discussion at last Friday’s Academic Board and the recommendations were well received. The draft proposed hours will also be discussed this Friday at Library Committee. Internally, we will continue to work on staffing options for the proposal.
Anyone who wishes to contribute to a problem-solving approach determining how best to meet our customers’ needs around the Libraries open hours in 2018 and beyond please come at 9am on Thursday to Room 210 in the Central Library. W e will spend an hour together working to refine our proposal.
Te Paea, the Customer Services team leaders and Jo have prepared a draft discussion proposal for 2018 opening hours as they normally would at this time of year. As you may be aware, UCSA polled students regarding some of their preferences in relation to library opening hours and tabled their report at the Library Committee meeting last Friday.
Anyone who can’t make the meeting time please send your comments through to me or pass them on to others who are going. (thanks to Wendy D for reminding me of this and sending comments through already!)
