Here’s to the start of the semester break, yay! If you’re going to be staying in Christchurch, here’s what’s on next week:
- Boulevard Arts Market:
31-33 Worcester Boulevard, 9.30am-4.30pm.
An artisans market of quality locally and New Zealand made arts and crafts. This market runs 7 days a week and I’ve heard it’s great for jewellery, crafts, home wares and gifts.
- Public lecture: Why vets should support moral agency in animals:
Room 612, Karl Popper, 1-2pm.
Fiona Dalzell will be discussing the moral dilemma that vets face when treating animals. The reality of the work is different from the pre-graduation dream. The owner of the animal is the client, not the animal itself. So how should vets act when asked to ignore what’s best for the animal? Go to the lecture to learn more about Dalzell’s practical model of moral agency for animals.
- Bone Thugs-N-Harmony after-party:
R18, 11pm-3am, Dux Live.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are touring NZ and performing at The Foundry. Unfortunately the tickets to the show are sold out, but you can still get tickets to the after-party at Dux Live. Tickets cost $39+bf.
- Christchurch Food Trucks:
4-9pm, The Commons, 70 Kilmore St.
The first Friday of every month the food trucks come out at The Commons, with some of Christchurch’s top food vendors. Make a night of it as there’s entertainment, buskers, music and more.
- Deep Hard N Funky at The Foundry:
R18, 8pm-1am, $50 a ticket.
This mid-winter music festival features Peking Duk, Loadstar, Stookie Sound, Crnkn and more. Brought to you by V Energy with thanks to the UCSA.
- Gin Wigmore – New Rush:
8pm, CPSA Big Yellow Building, 5 Madras St, $40+bf.
Her third studio album comes out today with the awesome single New Rush. She performed this song on X Factor a few weeks back and it was epic! Will be an awesome concert for sure.
