Don’t be caught! Watch out for email phishing scams

There have been a number of email phishing scams going around recently – these scams ask recipients to provide login details, or click a link to ensure their account or password doesn’t expire. They often look like official notices for mailbox quotas or account verifications but are attempts to break into your email account.

The key thing to remember is that the University, and all other reputable organisations, will NEVER ask for your login details via an unsolicited email. So, don’t respond to such requests.

However, if you are ever in any doubt about the authenticity of such an email, just contact UC’s IT Service Desk on ext. 6060 or log a request through the Self Service Portal.
