Are you an accounting student? Check out INCITE 2017

If you are an accounting student in your final or penultimate year at UC then this one’s for you! Following is an open invite to the MYOB INCITE conference.

Spaces are strictly limited with just 50 places for UC and Lincoln students. Attendees will receive a certification to add to their CV after attending, have a session with the MYOB CEO, networking opportunities and gain industry knowledge of how MYOB works.

One thing that may surprise you when you join the accounting industry is the romance. Essentially, accounting software companies want to get to know you better. It’s a courtship, to borrow my mum’s term.

One of the ways they make that happen is to invite you to their annual roadshow events. And full disclosure – that’s exactly what I‘m doing right now.

Seriously, it’s one of the oddities of business that you simply won’t be prepared for … people being super nice to you because of your job. It’s a nice odd thing, by the way.

These companies – like MYOB in this instance – are super keen to ensure you know everything you need to know to help your clients tech-wise. And these roadshows are the perfect vehicle for you to get to know what that company 1) has in the market today, 2) has planned, and 3) how it all helps businesses (your future clients) do their work better.

MYOB INCITE hits Christchurch on Tuesday 21st February 2017. And for the first time, you’re invited. Well, a limited number of you anyway (see below).

At MYOB INCITE you’ll rub shoulders with partners and accountants from most of the firms in town. There’s plenty of networking opportunities with potential employers. There’ll be a bunch of stuff about what’s happening in the industry today and what’s coming tomorrow. Plus, there’s a breakout session where you’ll meet MYOB CEO Tim Reed and get to pick his brains. Oh, and there’s a free feed.

A DISCLAIMER OF SORTS: Attendance is limited to those in their final two years of their accounting degree. So, if that’s you, book your spot right now, because seriously, seats really, truly are limited.

BTW, if you want to hook up with Tim Reed earlier, here’s his Twitter. And here’s MYOB’s socials as well, for Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
