Thursday 26 April, 11.30am – 2.30pm

The UC Volunteering Expo is coming up on Thursday 26 April and now is the perfect time to make volunteering a focus. Often, we uni students feel we should volunteer, but find it hard to find the time for it. Between lectures, assignments and part time jobs, not to mention keeping up a social life, it’s pretty easy to forget about it.
But volunteering doesn’t have to be something you feel like you have to do! There are so many charities and organisations out there looking for volunteers that you are bound to find something that interests you. You could volunteer for the SPCA, become a leader in a youth organisation like Girls Brigade, or make dinner at Ronald McDonald House.
It also doesn’t have to take up heaps of time – you can find one-off opportunities every couple of months, or make a regular commitment of a couple of hours a week. Not to mention there are so many benefits to volunteering, including:
- meeting new people
- learning new skills
- gaining valuable life experience or in your area of study
- making your CV look good
- having a good time!
The UC Volunteering Expo is a great opportunity to find a volunteering position that is perfect for you, so make sure you head along, see you on Thursday!
