Clubs Day 19-20 Feb

Want to meet people? Get involved?

One of the best ways to do that is to join a UCSA club or society.

Our clubs really know how to put on a show, so be sure to come along to Clubs Day and check out what they’re peddling!

Clubs are the real social scene here at UC, and the summer Clubs Day is a bustle of energy you won’t want to miss out on.

Here’s a sneak preview of your choices>

Clubs Day is a chance for you to figure out what clubs you want to be a part of and for clubs to recruit new members, creating connections and engagement within the student culture.

Most are free and if not, they’re usually cheap as chips (if English is your second language, this is one way Kiwis refer to a bargain)!

  • When: Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 February from 10am
  • Where: Ilam, Central Campus

For more, check out the UCSA website>

You’re invited: Tōia mai

The Office of Assistant Vice Chancellor Māori invite you to register now for Tōia mai, a two-day fun filled noho at Tuahiwi Marae on 11 and 12 February 2019.

He whakapapa Māori ōu?  Do you have whakapapa Māori?
Ko tēnei tō tau tuatahi ki UC?  Is 2019 your first year at UC?

Tōia mai tō waka!

Whether this is your first time on a marae or your hundredth, this noho marae is an awesome opportunity to engage in a whole lot of activities including:

  • learning something new about Ngāi Tūāhuriri – the mana whenua (home people)
  • meeting senior students and other first-year ākonga Māori (Māori students)
  • preparing kai together
  • making connections – whakawhanaungatanga

…and most importantly, having fun!

This event is open to all ākonga Māori who are new to UC and all kai and transport will be provided.

Engari, kia kūrapa e hoa mā – space is limited so be sure to register now!

Calling all students looking for their 15 seconds of fame!

Were you made for the camera and spotlight? Do you have an outgoing and vibrant personality?

Every year, UC produces a brief 2 – 3 minute video to be shown at Orientation Day to students new to the University. The video will highlight the resources and services offered to students. Who better to give new students a first look at campus life than our current ones?

You must be available for filming the morning of Friday 25 January. We only have a couple of spots left so don’t wait.

If you’re keen to take part, please email Communications at by midday Friday 18 January 2019.
